My neighbor's kid kicked a ball into my window and shattered it. I asked them to pay for the replacement and they said it was an accident and I should claim it on my home insurance. The window costs $350 to replace. I think since their kid broke it, they should pay. It's basic responsibility.
My son was playing in our yard and the ball accidentally went over the fence. Accidents happen with kids. Their insurance should cover it — that's literally what insurance is for. We didn't do it on purpose and $350 is a lot for us right now.
